Monday Motivation: How Are You Going to Change the Game?

In order to be a successful chess player, you have to first understand how to play the game. You are probably thinking, Lucinda that is obvious. However, you will be surprised how many people try to jump into a new arena without actually educated themselves on the specific subject.

If you want to be an extraordinary No Deposit Bonus chess player, then I would say observe other successful players or find a mentor to teach you the tricks of the trade. In other words for every new venture you decide to embark on, such as being an entrepreneur or a public speaker, do your homework and study that particular expertise. Also, you should find someone who has traveled the road for advice.

The game of chess requires a player to hone in on their strategic skills and thinking. Therefore, the game seems to be the universal symbol of strategy. Although skills needed in the game of chess can be highly effective in other arenas, if you continuously study the game of chest you can memorize all of the possible moves one can make and all of the possible advancements their opponents can make. Of course, this takes a lot of practice and dedication. However, some fields there is no blueprint and you can’t predict someone’s move thus preparing to make your next. For example, the game of business is unpredictable. Unlike chess, you can’t think of all the possibilities of what may happen and try to find solutions.

#MondayMotivation: 5 Methods To Keep Track Of Your Time

11304038_745547095558150_730605606_nSetting your priorities and sticking to them is a great step towards reducing your stress, but it won’t help much if you don’t have time to finish all the other menial tasks that are involved in running an at-home business. Items like billing, filing, ordering ink for your printer, and a million other little things that pile up over time still need to be done.

Let’s look at five methods to help you keep better track of where your time goes, and keep on top of your schedule.

1. Write everything down.

Famous productivity expert David Allen, author of Get It Done, recommend getting your to-dos out of your brain and onto paper. I can attest that this method works! When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I have found one of the greatest ways to de-stress is to sit down and write out everything I have to do that’s got my head spinning. Whether those are big projects, little five-minute tasks, or anything, it all goes down on paper as my brain is churning out the words. When I can actually see my thoughts on paper, I can start sorting and prioritizing.

2. Keep track of how long a task takes you.

It’s a common psychological trick we play on ourselves – we overestimate how long it takes to complete unpleasant tasks, and we underestimate how long we spend on pleasant items. Get real by writing down the actual time it takes you to do things like file papers, log receipts, and any other tedious task. Then you have a concrete estimate the next time you think, “Oh, that’s going to take all day!”

3. Minimize interruptions.

Turn off your email alert noise, put your phone ringer on mute, and clear your desktop before you jump into a task that requires concentration. Fewer interruptions and distractions allow you to get in that concentrating “sweet spot” where you’re humming along and working at a pleasant clip. That means you’ll get your work done faster and be less stressed. Constant interruptions ultimately result in needing to re-prioritize your day, over and over and over again. You can see how the stress you feel just keeps escalating without minimizing the interruptions each day.
4. Break down large projects.

Big projects – website overhauls, writing reports, planning marketing campaigns, creating a newsletter – can be overwhelming. When faced with a large project, break it up into tasks you can complete in one sitting, preferably in under 20 minutes. That way, instead of looking for a free afternoon to tackle the project all at once (which you’ll never get!), you just need to squeeze in 20 minutes here and there until the project is completed. I don’t know anyone who can’t find 20 minutes, but ask an entrepreneur to block out 8 hours for a project, and you’ll receive in turn a stunned glare, find out baton rouge maid service near by.
5. Take advantage of “lost” time.

Our days are full of five minute breaks between activities. We call these “dead” time. You may be sitting in car-line at your child’s school, or in line at the pharmacy, or even waiting for a pot of water to boil. There you are, simply waiting for something to happen. Keep a notebook with a running list of tasks that can be completed in 5 minutes or less. Schedule an appointment, call a friend to set up a lunch date, clean out your voice mail, file your nails – anything that you know you need to do but don’t get around to doing.

Now when you have “dead” time, glance down at your notebook with the list of 5 minute tasks and start at the top.  Work your way down the list every time you find yourself with a few free minutes. You’ll be amazed at how much you accomplish when you’re ready to go!

The power of time management can have you thinking you can do it all now!  You are Superwoman!  You are Supermom!  But, before you go leaping those tall buildings, stop and take a deep breath.  There are still things beyond our control.  Yes, we can do a lot, but we can’t do it all.  Life sometimes gets in the way, even of the most on-task entrepreneur.

Monday Motivation: Their Ceiling, Your Floor

Lucinda's Take Aways (October 26)
It is vital for me every morning to reevaluate my goals to ensure that I am working on them daily. However as a motivational speaker, I always have to seek words from other profound speakers and leaders in order to refuel my life and pour into you. I came across this video entitled, Exceptionalism, by no other than Bishop TD Jakes.

The title itself captured me and I had to take 30 minutes out my day to feed my spirit. Exceptionalism is what I strive to be everyday and through everything. Rather it is my work ethic, the way I dress, cleaning my home, or cooking for my family, I want to do it with excellence and I encourage you to live an exceptional life too, else will suggest you to hire the the best carpet cleaners dublin

Invest in yourself and take 30 minutes in your day to listen to TD Jakes messages and write down your take aways. But, don’t just listen, write, and then fail to apply. It is vital to take notes in order to revisit your take aways. It will serve as a friendly reminder to separate yourself from ordinary thinking and be exceptional.

I had the opportunity to finally meet my coach face to face. We have been coaching together since 2009, this was truly an epic moment for me.

We talked, we laughed, and we laughed some more, then it happened…

A great coach can see the concern behind all the MAC and NARS. She says, “Lucinda what is going on?”

I tell her half of the concern.

“Bayo (my husband) wants to go to Essence Fest and I am not sure about going.” She said, “Why not?”

I begin to tell her about my deep desire to be a part of Essence Fest Empower U. I tell her all the great things that have transpired since the article release in January. I tell her about the snow ball effect with the media and how it only makes perfect sense to conclude my vision board tour in NOLA and bring my husband along. She begins to break it down about target, timing and season. She reminds me of how supportive my husband has been of my travels, ventures and media imposing in our homes and in our lives. She asked me why I would want to bring him to NOLA for more of that frenzy when it should be a time for having fun, networking and celebrating with him. She asked me again, why would I want to do a focused vision board workshop in a place designed for concerts, fun and unlimited drinks. Why would I think people would be focused on a vision board when they are there to hear their favorite artist perform, dance the night away and
attend the day parties? She informed me that Essence Fest may not be the place for me to conclude, maybe not this year and not this time.

She closed out by saying “take a chill pill, and go with your husband to Essence Fest for fun and be free.”

That moment of questions and reasoning took a huge weight off my back. I now ask you:
* What are you holding back from experiencing because you are not on the agenda?
* What opportunities are you missing out on because you are forgetting the “work hard, play hard rule?”
* When will you put down the business hat and pick up the “carpe diem” live life hat?

As the go-getter I am, I could have easily went down to NOLA and hosted my own event. I am getting emails from media and people who are asking if I am coming down to do vision boarding. What is more important to me is the time with my best friend, lover and supporter, just to be a part of the grand experience. I never been to Essence Fest before so why not enjoy the experience first.

The Gift Of Adversity

The gift of adversity.

Sometimes adversity ends in sweet success, and sometimes it’s in the funk of failure.

One thing that we can all agree on is that adversity forces us to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

The english college that we have to deal with in life challenges us to find our inner strength, and to find strengths we didn’t even know we had, to tackle
problems we had no idea how to solve, and most importantly how to go against the odds.

We come out the other side a different person, with a new perspective and appreciation for life.

Además dirige la iniciativa Activate your life today.
