About The Activate Experience:
The fourth annual Activate Experience is a two-day intensive designed to inspire men and women from around the world to make a living, living.

This year’s theme is All or Nothing.

I’m going to let you in on a red hot secret; I believe every man and woman has a vision and a calling. It’s something you were born to do and someone you were born to be. This calling burns so deeply inside your soul you just might catch on fire.

But all too often you compromise your vision because you’re afraid.
Afraid of not being able to make ends meet if you quit your job to pursue your purpose.

Afraid you’ll have to sacrifice family time to work on your dreams, goals and desires.

Afraid you’ll fail and have to go back to your old routine.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

I live to ignite your fierceness and stomp out the fear that is keeping you short changed, overlooked, stoppable, and silent. I’m going cut you loose so you can discover your hidden potential, amplify your voice, and create the life you dream about and no doubt deserve.

And that’s why I created The Activate Experience—to unleash your vision and live on purpose so you live the blazing life of your dreams.

Lucinda’s keynote at the Activate 2K14 conference

My keynote at the Activate 2K14 conference was based on the Parable of the Talents.

Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30 provided a perfect foundation for the Activate 2K14 attendees. A framework about purpose and passion, success and wealth.

1. The Parable teaches us that success is about results.

We each have been given talents to use, trade and maximize. These talents are given to glorify God which in turn provides a fulfilling lifestyle for us to live. These talents are given to us to produce a return, not to hide. What talents are you hiding? How are you increasing what you have been given?

2. The Parable teaches that God has already given us everything we need to operate in our purpose.

This means that you are not comparing your gifts, talents, skills and abilities to anyone else. God has given you specific talents that are customized for you. Use them, increase them, leverage them, and activate them. Many of us sit on our talents and hide them because we are looking at our short comings. Use what you have because it is more than enough. How can you turn your ideas into a brand? How can you turn your brand into a movement? How can you help others by using your story, your expertise or life experience?

3. The Parable shows that we are responsible and held accountable.

The Parable of the Talents is about being a servant leader. Not wasting your opportunities. The man with one Talent wasted an opportunity because he was afraid and fearful. We are responsible for our purpose and held accountable for what God has given us.

I hope those of you who were in the audience have been Activated to use your talents, and those who did not attend can get the DVD or video to watch the keynote presentation by Lucinda Cross.

Unpacking 3 Suitcases of Pain

suitcases

As I prepare mentally, emotionally and spiritually for my very first Activate Conference, I realize that it is very important for me to unpack and unload in order to deliver my best.

Today I will attempt to unpack three cases of pain. For months I walked past these suitcases for they are a constant reminder that my Mother has made her transition. The pain simply overwhelmed me. Truth be told,  I’ve sat up many nights staring at them trying to find the inner strength to unpack them however grief and pain consumed me and I left it for another day.

My Mother’s  transition gifted me with tons of love, loads of memories and three cases of pain. Unpacking these suitcases will be one of the hardest things I have ever done but necessary for my growth.

How many times do we avoid the process because of the pain that may surface or re-surface? As I take the uncomfortable action steps to unpack these suitcases of pain today, my wish is that you do the same.   Take the pain that you have locked in the corner for months or even years, and address it.  Your pain may be the death of a relationship, job, or thoughts that no longer serve your highest interest.

We need you to show up at the Activate Conference without painful baggage and hidden agendas.

Give yourself permission to heal. I have 3 cases of pain and it may take me all day, it may take me another week, but I am determined to unpack and release this part of my process before I greet you on September 20th at the Activate Conference. Let the healing begin one case at a time.

Let the healing begin one case at a time. Today I want you to unpack…

Unpack the suitcase of love and encourage others to do the same

Unpack your strength so that you can knock down walls that keep you from being the person God has called you to be.

Unpack your vision so you can see yourself and the world through God’s eyes

Unpack the process in every situation and be grateful for the lessons behind each one.

Unpack your joy from head to toe, inside and out

Unpack your pride and be willing to ask for help

Unpack healing to help your body and mind be stronger and clear each day

Unpack your song and dance to the beat of the drums and not the drama

Unpack your truth so that faith can take you to amazing places

If this has inspired you to unpack, share this post with your circle of sisters! Hope to see you in September at the Activate Conference http://www.activateconference.com .

Miss you mommy…

Be Unstoppable

The value of today. I never really understood the value of each day until my mom passed away…I never really understood the value of today until my freedom was snatched away. Today is a defining moment. I live for today. I grind for today. I love for today.~ Lucinda Cross~

What is stopping you from doing and being all that you can be?

What is stopping you from going where you want to go?

What is stopping you from saying what you want to say?

The more you look deep within and realize that there is bliss just waiting to be exposed. No on can stop you but you.   To change at a deep level, you have to go within and find those old beliefs, confront them, and trash them.

This is what Steven Pressfield had to say about this: “RESISTANCE will tell you anything to keep you from doing your work. It will reason with you like a lawyer, or jam a nine millimeter pistol in your face like a stick-up man.”

No cash is a sign of lack of consistency

No cash is a sign of lack of consistency. There you have it. No Consistency = No Cash = A Calling waiting for you to show up.

NO CASH can break you down. I’m here to help you build a platform that blesses everyone it comes in contact with. Including you. Especially you. You have an amazing message powerful beyond belief. It’s time for you to create it, but you have to promise yourself to be consistent.

Sidebar: Have you been dormant or stagnant about your purpose or message? Don’t know where to begin, what to do first or what to do next? Do you need a boost, further clarity or supportive encouragement on what you are currently doing? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I invite you to ACTIVATE YOUR LIFE! Mindless Behavior is Dangerous

For any leader or power of influence there comes a time when you will be tested and tried. Your endurance and the persistence is what will keep you through those stormy thoughts and those late night writers block moments when you have a deadline approaching.

Mindless behavior is when you allow your thoughts to take you on an emotional roller coaster. Often times into a state of slump.

As you go through, and grow through life’s challenges, please keep it together.  If you are a writer or speaker or someone who shares a message, keeping it together is crucial to your platform.  At 19, I thought I was going to lose my mind, I was in an mindless place, with people losing their mind. I prayed and asked God to grant me one wish…”to keep my mind.” I didn’t have my yoga Cd’s or special mat, candles or fancy ritual trinkets, no tarot/hand reader or horoscope advice, no prayer cloths or special beads. It was just me and God.

How many times have you almost lost your mind?

How many times did you feel like you were about to snap?

Thank God for being a keeper.

The mind is a terrible thing to waste and so is your message. Make up in your mind right now that you will carry on and continue to move forward with positive and productive behavior regardless of what the circumstances look like or feel like right now.

Don’t let your situation or circumstance control your mind.

Trading in Busyness for Effectiveness

This video is just a confirmation as to why Activation is required.

Bishop T.D. Jakes talks about using 80% of your time to do the things you were created to do and 20% on the things you don’t have to do.  Please watch this video and make a list of things that you are going to stop doing, start doing and what you will continue to do.

We must maximize our lives and it starts with editing your life to do more purpose driven activities and less of the busy bee stuff.

The Activate Intensive is a purpose driven 4 week online seminar to support you in getting on track and staying focused on the things God has called you to do. http://lucindacross.com/op/activateonline

3 Lessons I Learned From My HORRIFIC Jet Blue Flight

My worst flight everA lot of people are afraid of dying in a plane crash. I was a Jet Blue lover and rider up until this weekend.  I was heading to Florida to keynote at a fabulous conference. I will fill you in on the grade A, top notch treatment in the next blog post. For now let me share my experience with Jet Blue that taught me a valuable lesson on communication.

Due to the rainy and cloudy weather on Friday I expected some turbulence and delays, but what happened in the first 45 minutes of the ride had me in a state of shock. I thought my prayers of going to another level in life was about to be answered in another form and soon I would be meeting my maker.  lol

The plane made several roller coaster moves, but the last three moves felt as if the plane was falling out of the sky. The plane made a huge drop. People were holding on to each other, screaming and yelling “get me off”, “Oh my God”, you name it and they were yelling it.  The stewardess were not calming the crowd nor comforting the people.

All we heard from the pilot during the huge drop was “crew sit down”.

There were no comforting words, for all we knew we were about die. I have been on plane rides from one hour to 12 hours.  I have never been in a situation where the pilot or his crew did not calm the people down and/or inform us that we were experiencing heavy turbulence or flying through some air pockets.

I wanted to hear from the pilot during or afterwards.

I wanted to know that everything will be okay.

I wanted to know that this was heavy turbulence and would last for another??? minutes.

The absence of hearing from the pilot put everyone in a state of shock, including myself.  My legs were shaking, my heart felt like it was about to pop out of my chest, and my hands were hurting from holding on to my seat with all my might to avoid bumping my head.

So here are three lessons I learned from my horrific Jet Blue flight:

  1. Always communicate, give people a heads up on what to expect
  2. Be sensitive to others needs
  3. Never eat before you take a Jet Blue flight

Please feel free to share your horrific flight story.

Mindsturbation may be stopping you from???

The Road to Redemption:

Overcoming life’s obstacles, roadblocks, detours and challenges

How to use this book: If you decide to dive in and out of this book expecting a miracle, you have just picked up the wrong book. If you decide to act occasionally on the suggested strategies, you will undoubtedly receive some benefit but it is highly unlikely that you will experience a transformation. In my experience, mindsturbation is the major difference that separates those who receive remarkable results and experience a major transformation from those who enjoy spurts of success. Mindsturbation is a combination of motivation and temporary mental stimulation. People looking for a temporary feel-good will find innumerable ways not to do the recommended success strategies.

The Road To Redemption is more than just another shelf item that you can read to get a quick fix, steps to, or how to advice book. This is a story of REDEMPTION. This is a process. Activation is required; the change does not happen overnight and requires you to focus fully on your destination in life. Many of us have become so self-sabotaged that we are just tired of being tired. Many of us have given up too soon, right before our breakthrough in life. Many of us have lost our hope and faith and have pulled back from being spiritually connected. Many of us have been motivated and empowered to experience only confusion, loneliness, self-doubt, and feelings of unworthiness. This has opened the door to saying yes, when we wanted to say no, to become unproductive because we allowed distractions and competition to hinder the completion of our process.

The Road to Redemption is designed to teach us to check our character, spiritual beliefs, mindset, relationships, and skill sets. Too often, our intellectual assets are underdeveloped, underutilized, or underperformed. The Road to Redemption will help you reach, stretch, grow, and propel into becoming the greatest and best YOU.
