Monday Motivation: How Are You Going to Change the Game?

In order to be a successful chess player, you have to first understand how to play the game. You are probably thinking, Lucinda that is obvious. However, you will be surprised how many people try to jump into a new arena without actually educated themselves on the specific subject.

If you want to be an extraordinary No Deposit Bonus chess player, then I would say observe other successful players or find a mentor to teach you the tricks of the trade. In other words for every new venture you decide to embark on, such as being an entrepreneur or a public speaker, do your homework and study that particular expertise. Also, you should find someone who has traveled the road for advice.

The game of chess requires a player to hone in on their strategic skills and thinking. Therefore, the game seems to be the universal symbol of strategy. Although skills needed in the game of chess can be highly effective in other arenas, if you continuously study the game of chest you can memorize all of the possible moves one can make and all of the possible advancements their opponents can make. Of course, this takes a lot of practice and dedication. However, some fields there is no blueprint and you can’t predict someone’s move thus preparing to make your next. For example, the game of business is unpredictable. Unlike chess, you can’t think of all the possibilities of what may happen and try to find solutions.

4 Ways To Market The Unknown Vision

1376498_828661743837690_1412289054102603038_n11024699_828661747171023_6091972272946124451_n Create a marketing mix to get your vision and message exposed. Pictured below I am with my mom and my hubby at my first signing in 2009. I took my time, I scouted my market, I listened. I made connections before the book was completed. I supplied based on a need.

That night I sold over 200 books and over 300 online. About 40% of the people who came I did not know. I walked into libraries handed out fliers, met with PTA teams, went into unemployment offices, passed out fliers at nail salons, beauty shops, parking garages, Girls Scout meetings, met with Day Care center directors and all. You have to do more than post on Facebook.

The ground work to make that special connection is vital. After the signing, I was called to do my first TV interview on ABC News Money Matters. Don’t commit brand suicide because you are rushing to put out a premature product and not doing the work to get results.

4 ways you can build the buzz around your vision:

1. Write it out via blogging. I blogged about everything pertaining to moms leaving their jobs, moms who were working on a side hustle. I made friends with as many mom business owners and mommy bloggers. It takes time to establish your blog but the results are well worth the effort. Keep your social media messages fun, light and informative…leave the heavy conversation for your videos or conference calls.

Procrastination Rally: Setting Goals

20150213_205804What are you waiting for?

I am starting a Procrastination Rally.  No More Procrastination. The roof, the roof is on fire, we don’t need no water let the procrastinator excuses burn, burn down long to do list, burn information hoarders, burn time wasters, burn baby burn.

Research shows that most of us spend up to 80% of our time on activities that have nothing to do with the success of our projects. We load ourselves down with endless tasks that keep us feeling busy, yet at the end of the day we wonder why we have accomplished little to nothing.

“No matter what we do, there will be people around us that will say that it’s crazy, that we shouldn’t do that. I think those people are very important for us. They’re there to find out if we believe in and are committed to doing what we say we’re doing.” ~John Francis

  • Why do we miss deadlines, put off doing things we dislike, and accept stress and procrastination as a necessary part of life?
  • What experiences have shaped the way you think about time?
  • Do you need to rethink your views?
  • If you were asked to speak to a group of students about the best way to use time, what would you say to them?

Please recognize that procrastination is keeping you from achieving all that you can in life.

Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.

IMG_0278“Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, or call it a family: Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” – Jane Howard

Building a team is the single most important thing you can do to elevate yourself which will afford you to stretch yourself and help others . You always need someone in your team that is more knowledgeable than you in a subject, swifter, and more creative. These are the people who can help take you to the next level. They are also known as your success tribe.

Today, I want to share the importance of having a success tribe and how there is power in numbers.

In 2015, a major key I would like you to focus on is having a clear vision and building your IMG_0248tribe. It is important to discover those who will help you carry out your vision. But, it is also vital to know what characteristics you are looking for within your tribe. Personally, I am looking for Activators that are motivated, detailed, humorous, positive, who believes in God and are confident in their skills. Successful leaders really invest in their tribe because they understand that these are the loyal people who will invest their time and even their money to help the vision.  (more…)

My California Experience

10665759_935121063178607_9121418030227173584_n“Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises.”

I believe when you travel to new places, it is a great opportunity to learn new things. I recently visited California this past weekend to speak as a keynote for The Bounce Back To Your Brilliance Live Conference in LA, an awesome event presented by Angel Tyree. I want to share with you my take away from my Hollywood experience.

You ready for it….there is a big difference between being  Seen OnFeatured InMentioned and Quoted, when it pertains to media. How does this pertain to you? People often misuse media terminology in order to appear more credible or leverage their platform. However, this can be harmful  for their career. Terminology and the correct use of verbiage is so important.

Here are the differences…

If someone is Seen On, you can simply Google their name and BOOM the show they mentioned being a part of will appear. Seen On should reference television, web series or any visual media.

Featured In, you also can do a Google search and there should be a page with name, picture or an interview that features the individual. This may be in the form of online or in print. This does not include quotes and one liners, this is a full feature about a person and their story. Majority of the time you will see an image accompanying the write up.

Quoted is just that, a person being quoted for their expertise or knowledge with their name attached and should not be mixed up with the above stated.

Mentioned is when a writer or editor mentions or references a person in their content.

It was bought to my attention by several agents and media moguls that they were excited to read about my integrity in the use of my media mentions and how it makes a difference in decisions. Major networks cringe when a person uses their logos and brands unethically and to someones advantage. In order to receive more awareness make sure you reference your media mentions in the way you were featured, mention, quoted or seen. Trust me it makes a difference to the media sharks seeking talent. You can bamboozle the people but the industry will know the truth. Make sure you don’t misuse terminology for short term success. We don’t want to jeopardize ourselves for greater opportunities.

What is your Vision?

IMG_0269This past week, you saw Chief Activator, Best Selling Author, Speaker and Spokesperson Mrs. Lucinda Cross on the Today Show with Tamron Hall discussing Vision Boards and how essential they are in making your dreams become a reality. However, before you go get magazines, a board, markers, glue, and friends…. You must first know your vision, your purpose, and your journey.

Merriam – Wesbter defines the word vision as, “a clear idea about what should happen or be done in the future”. So having a clear idea of where you want to be and why it is important is paramount when it comes to aligning your life to watch your seeds grow. We all have envisioned ourselves as millionaires, celebrities, Broadway stars, and/or winning a Grammy, but can we, honestly, say that we have fully thought out and analyzed the sacrifices that will have to take place before we can appreciate and accomplish these goals. Vision boards are the start of your visionary journey to help guide you to what you deemed necessary achieve this year, within five years, or within a lifetime. One thing Tamron Hall pointed out on Lucinda’s vision board on the Today’s Show is that “NBC” was on posted. Lucinda did not know that she would eventually be a guest, but she envisioned the dream, aligned herself with her direction, understood her purpose and activated her life to make her board come true.

In the latest blog, “Your “Vision Board” is not an Ouija Board”, she discusses how “Vision Boards are not created to give you answers, they are created to give you the permission and confidence to understand that YOU ARE THE ANSWER..”  Your Board will not come alive, unless you do!! So before you attend that vision board party, really think about your goals, your passion, and what all you need to do to achieve them. Once your vision is clear…. Activate all engines and enjoy the journey to the finish line.

Please email us at nye@activatingamerica.com if you are interested in hosting an Activate Your Vision Board Party, facilitated by Lucinda Cross as seen on the Today Show

My NBC Today Show Debut: Start a vision board to help you reach your goals

IMG_0269Mark Twain once said: The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why. Yesterday I had the honor and pleasure of being a special invited guest on NBC Today Show with Tamron Hall for #Tamron’sTuesdayTrend. I was actually supporting Tamron in the vision board process LIVE. (video replay below)

14 days into the New Year and I already have two major media outlets under my belt. As my vision continues to come to fruition, I realize that in order to make a difference I don’t have to change the whole world. Starting right where I am and breaking my vision up into bite sized pieces and chomping at it is the best way to go.

Creating a vision board will build a sense of accomplishment. It feels good and it feels even better when you see what you It’s amazing what you can get done with having a little creative visualization. Sign up for the next Vision Board Party.

“Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.” Paul J. Meyer

This actually is a 12 step process that I teach at my Activate Your Vision Board Parties.

Here’s three of the 12 phases:

1. Phase one is creating an Agreement. The agreement is based on the truth of not getting far in life without being productive and taking action towards your goals.

2. Phase two is making a Commitment. This means that you will commit to taking out the time to get clear about your vision and acting on that commitment daily.

3. Phase three is Planning. This requires you to believe the impossible.

As you watch this clip from the Today Show think about how you can start visualizing today for a better tomorrow.

For Tamron’s Tuesday Trend, motivational speaker Lucinda Cross joins TODAY to offer tips on how to fulfill your dreams in the new year, including creating a vision board to focus on your inspiration and motivation.
