How to turn your creative juices into income, NOW and LATER

When it comes to doing better business, we need to understand that we will have those rocky days and those days that just flow.  I see a lot in the womenpreneurs sit around in groups commiserating on the lack of everything but the amount of shoes in their closet.  Lack of time, lack of support and most of all the lack of money.

I want you to stop what you are doing and step away from your business for a few days.  It is time to let your creative juices flow by taking a look at the business from a prospect/lead point of view. Here is an example of the value you can add, as well as an alternate stream of income. Pull out a sheet of paper, and on the top label it VALUE and VALUE ADDED. Write down the value you are already providing under the Value title, and write down on the Value added side, what you could charge more for and add on to what you are already doing.

Case #1: You are a baker: you can begin to sell mugs, place mats, and pans, pots with your log on it, readymade baking dough or pie crust, aprons, recipe books, calendars with recipe of the month in it, signature beverages, and more.

Case #2: You are a personal trainer: Why not begin to sell head bands, your own label on water, water bottles, gym bags, towels, DVD’s, scales, or why not bundle a few items together to create a starter kit for new members.

It is time to start thinking about how you can generate more money through creative sources. This can be done by either adding value to your current business or utilizing your underperforming skills, talents and resources to supplement what you are already doing to increase your income.  We must move from making money to growing income. Making money can be easy, but WE NEED TO MAKE OUR MONEY GROW INTO A STEADY INCOME THAT INCREASES AND MULTIPLYS.

What can you create that can be assembled and marketed to the vital few?

What can you invest in that has potential or has the potential to produce a positive ROI?

The key is to run a business that will support you NOW and LATER.  These opportunities can be sweet, sticky and worth unwrapping.

The Obama way: How to start your own YES I Can! YES We Can! campaign

When it comes to this purpose driven life that we are leading, we must be strong enough to stand up for what we believe in regardless of what your life or business looks like now. Eliminate self doubt and any limiting beliefs that do not support your YES I CAN campaign.

Starting a YES I CAN, YES WE CAN campaign will result in you becoming more positive minded, and aware of your thoughts, feelings and actions. Awareness helps you identify the negative thought patterns that are preventing you from achieving success you deserve.  You will also begin to learn how to overcome the incessant outpour of any thoughts that label, judge, condemn, or criticize you or others you come in contact with.

Thoughts have no value, until they are backed up by an action.  President Obama positive thoughts pushed him to take action, which resulted in winning, not only the election but a winning attitude that CHANGED history. I doubt if he woke up every morning in a positive state mind feeling sunny and funny, but I bet you he thought about his affirmation YES I CAN, YES WE CAN in order to kick self doubt in the butt, so that he can kick butt in the campaign for the people who needed a CHANGE.

Are you ready to change?

Are you willing to stand up for yourself?

Are you ready to eliminate self doubt?

Make a decision to start your YES campaign, by saying YES to your life.  Here is a technique that can help you start the process of elimination:

Sit quiet in a less distracting space and connect with yourself find out air conditioner services in murrieta. Become aware of any thoughts that condemns or judge you. Start to tell yourself YES I CAN (say your name) go that extra mile, get   out of this abusive relationship, get that job, ace the final exam, get that government contract, love myself, continue this diet, stop this addiction, etc…

Do you have an Attitude problem?

Your business success depends on your attitude.

What do you do and how do you express yourself when the chips are down and things don’t go according to plan?

Trust me every day is not going to be sunshine; you will have your ups and downs. How you handle the ups and downs is the real question.  How do you stay positive when your bank account is low and your list of to-do is high? How do you stay positive when your bank account is looking good, but you’re feeling crappy? Your business will prosper greatly if you build and consequently sustain a positive attitude. Even when things in your business are not going according to plan, you have to remember that you are not alone.

Your attitude towards your business is a daily choice.  You can make a choice to be positive or negative, excited or overwhelmed.  Keeping a positive attitude increases the confidence in yourself and your business capabilities.

A positive attitude is a productive attitude.  This makes finding prospective customers and servicing the existing ones, simpler. Your attitude will become infectious and this will allow others to feel comfortable and confident in referring and suggesting you to others or will make them feel as if they have to run the other way.

Start to take a look at how you are feeling about yourself and your business, and then review how you are showing up in market place.  Are you showing up as Ms. Understanding, Ms. Know it all, Ms. Egotistical? Are you showing up as Ms. Passive/ Aggressive, Ms. Supportive, Ms. Drama Queen, Ms. Reliable, Ms. Difficult to talk to or Ms. Overly Sensitive?

Here are some useful tips for you to expand on your positive attitude.

Be warm and receiving to others, notice I said receiving not gullible.

Check your atmosphere: Attitudes rub on to others very quickly. Spend more of your time with positive people you will automatically find yourself developing a more positive attitude.

Be Proactive: The moment you are aware of an oncoming obstacle or challenge in business, solve it instead of leaving it to solve itself.

You have to learn to express your thoughts in an eloquent and assertive way so that the opportunity to get the self-paid promotion won’t be missed.  Become a money magnet or as Fabienne Fredrickson would say, “Attract Clients Like Crazy”.

5. Expand knowledge and skills. In a fast-paced industry acquiring new knowledge and skills in areas critical to the organization is one of the best ways to get ahead of the competition because it keeps you marketable.

Iyanla, Oprah and Lucinda: The Law of Opportunity

I watched the Oprah and Iyanla Vanzant interview last week, and as I sat with my pen and pad in hand, I started see some valuable lessons of the Law of Opportunity being revealed to me.  I rarely watch television, but I could not resist watching two of my favorite role models talk it out.  I learned a valuable lesson in those 45 minutes. When you say your ready, are you really aware of what ready means.

According to the online Websters Dictionary, Ready means 1. (adj) poised for action2. (adj) completely prepared or in condition for immediate action or use or progress3. (adj) immediately available,4. (adj) mentally disposed.  When Iyanla said she was ready, she really wasn’t. When you say your ready are you really ready?

Are you poised for action?

Are you prepared?

Are you available to be used?

Are you mentally disposed or willing to step up?

I am ready to take on the course, challenge or opportunity that is presenting itself. I am ready for the blessing. I am ready for the preparation and pruning for what ready calls for. I am ready to be used. I am available to be used. I am willing to play a bigger game and step it up.

Being ready is the key to opportunity. Many opportunities present itself, and if we are not focused and using discernment, we may put ourselves in a position to call ourselves “crazy” (over 5 times) on National T.V.

Can we honestly say we are ready for an opportunity or do we think we are ready? Can we stand to be blessed? Are we willing to be loyal to the process and not try to rush, force or present ultimatums in order to speed up the process?  As I was watching the interview, I had to stop and write notes on what the key lessons were for my life and my success.

Here are seven lessons I learned:

1.    Preparation: is necessary, I must be willing to be pruned and seasoned.  I must move in the spirit of excellence and continue to sharpen my sword.

2.    Stay humble and meek: understanding there are things I do not know. Willing to learn and willing to be patient and not pushy.  Open for constructive criticism and able to accept change.

3.    Stay Drama FREE Emotionally: leave my drama and my issues at home.  Not allowing my issues and my inner drama to interfere with my opportunities.

4.    Be the best ME: Never to seek validation from anyone, not everyone is going to like me and they are not supposed to. Asking or waiting for someone to say they “Like” me is not mentally poised.  The good always speaks for itself and needs no recognition. Continue to do good when no one is looking.

5.    Loyalty: All that glitters is not gold, just because the grass looks greener on the other side of the road, does not necessarily mean it is fertile ground.  Loyalty to self and to those who believe in nurturing you and not stunting your growth is important on the road to the “Land of more than enough”. Stay true and loyal to yourself.

6.    Pray for spiritual discernment: Ask God to direct your steps and confirm your direction. Pray for clarity.  Ask God for his will and his way to be done.

7.   Forgive yourself first: Apologize to you first, apologize to you first and I repeat apologize to you.  Apologize for not believing in yourself, in not trusting yourself, in not honoring yourself, in not valuing your boundaries and sticking to your morals, for saying yes when you wanted to say no, for being quiet when you wanted to speak up, forgive yourself for being emotionally attached, for allowing the EGO to move in, for not letting go of the past, for not valuing your valley, and for not listening to God.  I apologize Lucinda.

Who are you calling a Niche?

Niche involves providing services to a particular group of people within a market. For example, my market may be entrepreneurs, but my niche is services for mom entrepreneurs.  As the producer of the product you must take in consideration the group that you are creating the products or services for. Concentrating on particular niche gives you many advantages.

Lack of defining a niche has caused many businesses to collapse.  Business owners need to know their target market and their needs. A business is more likely to fail if it does not have a niche. You need to know who your specific niche is, the kind of problem this particular niche has and what you plan to do to help solve the problem.

Motivation and Inspiration: Holding Yourself Back

On my road to success, the one thing, I’ve discovered with many  Mom and Women Business Owners is that they are battling with constant “Fear”.  It is a word that means self-sabotage. I personally don’t like to use that word in my vocabulary but, here is the truth.  Many of us WAHMS, SAHMS, Mompreneurs and (Corporate Mom Drop Outs) CMD’s have either fear of failure, or fear of success.  Both can keep you from moving forward in your business and personal life.

But, here is the part that really hurts…

Are You Googlelicious?

Google Alerts is ‘email updates’ of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic. It distills the results from the first 20 or so pages of its search engine results and sends you the alert. The most important aspect of being on the web is your online reputation. Making sure that the information regarding yourself and your business is Good and True and not anything, that is going to hurt you or your business. Now, there are many different aspects of reputation monitoring, and one in particular is Google Alerts.

As a business owner whose specialty is marketing, Google Alerts is a tool that I cannot live without. I get to find out about my clients and their competition, see if anyone is plagiarizing their content, and see who is searching for them. Google Alerts is the ultimate internet spy.

Here are some ways I use the service to save me lots of time and energy marketing in the wrong places.
