Build Your Mentorship Dream Team

Now is the time to write and approach your dream list of mentors.

There are mentors, then there are “dream list” mentors. Dream list mentors are the mentors you’d pick if you could choose any mentors on the planet. Landing these kinds of “dream list” mentors takes audacity and connections. But it’s certainly doable. Check moneyscout.

==> How Facebook Landed Bill Gates

When Facebook was still in its infancy with just a few million members, Mark Zuckerberg decided he wanted to make it a platform. He wanted developers to be able to build apps on the platform.

He asked one of his mentors if he could put him in touch with others who’ve developed platforms. His mentor said he might be able to put him in touch with some developers who’ve built a platform in the past.

Zuckerberg said: “I was thinking more along the lines of Bill Gates.”

His mentor scoffed at him. Here he was, running a startup social network with far less traffic than MySpace and he wanted Bill Gates to teach him how to build a platform?

TRANSFORMING STEREOTYPES OF SISTERHOOD

Sisterhood is a reward.

The sister relationship, above all other relationships, is the greatest of all.
I believe sisterhood requires more energy than parenting and more work than a marriage.

Sisterhood is a bond often threatened and is threatening all in the same breath.

When women get married, a union is formed.
When women have a family, a nation is built.
When women step into their purpose and empire is created.
But, when women get together the world changes.

Sisterhood, in my opinion, is not something that can be defined. It is an experience that must be had.

There was a time when I might have attempted to understand the term “sister” or “sisterhood” by looking outside myself for a definition. Today, however, as I am perhaps wiser and certainly more confident, I choose to rely on my own personal experience and observation. Although I don’t have a sister by blood, I am well aware of the uniqueness of this relationship and the value it holds for me.

I had the pleasure of interviewing four ladies that I have been watching on Instagram for quite some time, and their movements are astounding. I call these four ladies “The Elements.” They each bring something valuable to the society that they live, work and serve.

Their bond doesn’t come from superficial commonalities, but a shared understanding of each other’s experience and contribution to the world. Within this understanding, any differences can be embraced.

Million dollar ideas: Toys for rent? Introducing TOYGAROO

Just when you thought you heard it all, there is an online toy rental store that allows you to become a member, rent toys and then if your child really likes the toys you can buy them for a discount.

This can save you money and time.   I know I have spent lots of money on toys only to find out that my children have more fun with the box the toy came in than the actual toy.

At first I was questioning how kids would react to the fact that their toys were rented but when you think about it, they play with the toys for a limited time and then have the option to get new ones the next month or so.  This is pretty cool especially for the family who is on a limited budget.  No need to spend your savings on toys if you don’t want to.  There is a resource you can check out called Toygaroo and https://xn--lnepengar-52a.se/ seen on Shark Tank, Nate Berkus and abc7.

This site gets a grade A for creativity, necessity and brand awareness.

Check it out and let me know what you think. http://www.toygaroo.com/guest/xmas_welcome
