Are You Big Enough?

Life is beautiful, painful and surprising – it is so many things. Often we think we are too small for our own life – including the painful parts. But that doesn’t have to be the case. We can be big enough for our own life. ~ELIZABETH MATTIS NAMGYEL

My mother used to say,”Giving up is not an option.”
What do you do when the yellow lines on the roads disappear and the maps stop making sense. In this moment we have a choice: We can focus on the oppression, the distraction, and the fear, or we can use this moment to tap into greater faith.

Where there’s intensity, lies the wisdom.

Try Something New For 30 Days

I love challenges, and the best way to get me to do something is through short and consistent action steps. Starting today I am embarking on a personal 30 Days of More.

I will wake up at 5am for the next 30 days consistently to meditate, pray and work out. I usually get up at 5am, say my prayers and go back to bed for a quick 45min snooze before waking the kids up for school.  The purpose of me waking up at 5am is to build spiritual strength. Spiritual strength equals more life, more happiness, more money, more opportunities, more, more and more. There is something about the morning and getting spiritually grounded that helps my day flow. I am more alert and aware, I am more creative and productive. I am ready for 30 days of more.

What are you willing to do consistently in 30 days, that you may add or remove in order to live better?

(I will report my results as I go along so stay tuned and please feel free to post your personal 30Day challenge for yourself. I encourage you to share yours below so we can celebrate together and encourage each other.)

Get a new ’tude

Yep, you need a new attitude if you are walking around with stinking thinking and expecting other people to cover up the funk. Please change your attitude towards your situation so that you can see the goodness and greatness in what you already possess.  In order to maximize and leverage your personal or professional life, you have to be grateful for what you have and who you are becoming.

Why should your business increase if your attidue is the same? Why should your marriage improve if your attitude is still the same? Why should you be called and chosen if your attitude is the same ole stinky thinking?  Get over yourself and move on.

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home.” Charles Swindoll

I had a conversation with someone who often times goes into a complaining spree.  She complains that things are not working out, that she can’t find a job, that she hates where she lives, that she is tired of “making do” and needs some real money.

Now I am completely sympathetic to her needs and her cry.  But the pity party is where I draw the line. Let’s do a little compare and contrast.

Compared to someone sleeping on a concrete floor or wooden bench, she has a warm bed and clean sheets.

Compared to the dirt under that pan-handlers nails and the hole in her sneakers, she has a $45 french gel tips and $18 pedicure.

Compared to the  bedbugs, this child lost everything from being in shelter after shelter, she has $75 hair extensions and a perm, including the extra $$$ to get conditioner.

Compared to her Victoria Secret bra and the lady who just got the news that she has to have a mastectomy.

Oh here is one more….

Compared to the fact that she graduated school and has skills she can build on, compared to the child who doesn’t know how to read because she was told to quit school and work.

I think most people need to have a gratitude check.  When you look at the comparison above who has the advantage? Who needs a new attitude of gratitude?

We do need to realize that God does not give us more than we can bare, and this too shall pass.

What are you grateful for? Go ahead and take 2 seconds to post it…take time to do a gratitude check right here, right now.

Don’t let FEAR bully you

The FEAR bully never sleeps.  Just because you have made  strides to fight FEAR and be this FEARless being…FEAR is a bully, it’s like the boogie man. It will show up in the form of your mom, dad, children, supervisor, husband, you name it.  But here is the remedy: Activation!…FEAR and Activation can’t be in the same room, because there will be a good old western cowboy show down.

I remember during one of my workshops FEAR popped its head in and was loud and boisterous.  Side bar: FEAR will lose control if it feels like its being challenged, it will get loud or either tries to complain and cop a plea to get out.

So during my presentation, I addressed an issue that was bound to bring the FEAR out of the room and I talked about self sabotage. Well as soon as I addressed self sabotage in great detail, FEAR started to talk out loud, someone’s FEAR even made them leave the room.  Now this is not because I was challenging them personally, but I was fostering a breakthrough using change strategies and FEAR wanted to fight back so that it would not be exposed.

In short, I called FEAR to the front of the room to be exposed and BAM! POW! BOOM! FEAR left the individual alone and the person was mentally free and focused enough to enjoy the rest of the workshop and receive her blessing.

Please don’t let FEAR stop you from getting married, moving on with your life, starting a business, apologizing, forgiving, succeeding or even speaking or writing that book.  FEAR and Activation can’t be in the same room, so who are you going to let rule your next step?

If you are interested in how to write that book, when to write that book, what you should write that book about and then what to do before, during and after you write the book—- join me on June 4th at 9pm EST (Call in Number 218-895-0814 Primary Passcode225323#) for a brief preview session on a workshop I have designed just for you called “Write It Already!”. Failure to Thrive Syndrome: visions and dreams

One of the big mistakes I made with my visions and dreams is thinking that I had to be a particular kind of person, or be in the “right place at the right time” or have the right background in order for my vision to manifest.

When I took a good look at some of the past success stories, this was far from the truth. I did not need the right background, I needed to take the time out to nurture and cultivate my vision, I had to nurture the burning desire for success and be willing to use my natural mother instincts which govern success and growth.

Many clients of mine have experienced Failure to Thrive Syndrome.  What’s that you ask?  Well, here is what happens to infants who suffer from Failure to Thrive Syndrome and tell me if this is something you are going through or have overcome in the past.

Infants require basic nurturing needs to be met, nothing strenuous but necessary. Such as love, touching, feeding, holding, keeping warm and dry, some attention, etc.  In fact, so powerful is the need to be nurtured that without it, the baby can develop Failure to Thrive Syndrome, which often leads to infant death.  The infant’s body is telling it that something is wrong, the infant begins to internalize this reaction to non reaction and it results into something fatal or deadly.  Please keep in mind; I am not a physician or pediatrician.

As it pertains to your vision and your dreams, this is equally serious.  If you do not love, touch, feed, hold, and nurture your vision and your dreams their reaction to growth is zero to none.  Why do I use such a serious analogy to get my point across?  I use this analogy to let you know that your dream and vision is your contribution to the world.  Your vision may save thousands of lives; your dream pursued and acted on, may keep the next individual from giving up.

When a baby enters in the world, that is an individual who has a destiny, a mandate and a mission already assigned to him/her.  When a dream is birthed or a vision activated, that is a solution to a major problem, no matter how big or small, it is a valuable and worthy solution.

If you feel as if you are losing the life of your vision and dream, just take some time to give it some TLC (tender, love and care) before putting it out to the world. Nurture your vision and dreams, cultivate it, feed it the amount of quality time it needs.  Before you know it, your vision and dream will nurture, cultivate and feed you. $$$

Monday Prescription: Reinventing Yourself

Work in progress: “Raven Gets In”

by Walt Pascoe

There is something phenomenal going on in you.

Do you feel a little uncomfortable?

Do you feel pushed and pulled to do something else?

Do you feel as if you want to cry because things are not working out?

Do you feel impatient with the level of success you have now and ready to uplevel?

Do you feel like what you want to do is not what you are supposed to do?

Do you feel over excited like something is about to happen?

Do you feel sad at times as if something is fading away or dying inside?

Well these feelings that you have been having is symptoms to what I observed as the “REINVENTION” virus.

When I realized that for myself, I began to get scared because it required me to reinvent myself.

Reinventing yourself requires a brand change, a new direction of your business/life, a shift in my inner circle and a personal and emotional check up.  Ofcourse it is going to be an uneasy process, but when something phenomenal is going on in you, you have no choice but to strip out the weeds surrounding you and begin to help the real you breathe and become visible.

The ability to reinvent yourself is one of the key tools you need in order to stay ahead of the game, with new ideas, products and a market who is thirsty and a closer relationship with your family.  It makes no sense to operate in non productive habits.  If your business/relationships are broken and/or unsustainable and you have given it your all, don’t wait too long before you decide to change and begin the reinvention process.  That is why I say something phenomenal is going on.

It has to do with change, growth and evolution.  It has to do with women, and moms.  There are changes that are taking place in the hearts and minds of us women that are going to literally rock this world.

Women/Moms are changing their minds about who they are, who they service, what their role is in their family and in the world.  What role are you playing? Do you need to reinvent yourself?

The Fearmonger: What would you do if you had no fear?

I think it is time that we get rid of the inner critic.

What would you do if you had no fear?

What fears are stopping you from rising to your full potential?

Some entrepreneurs I work with consider fear as a motivator, and others consider fear as an illusion.  Whatever the case may be if you are like most of us, fear raises its ugly head the minute you decide to do something positive, and productive for yourself or others.

Ask yourself: Can I see my future or what my future will be like if I continue to hold on to the fears that are deceiving me?

The biggest mistake most entrepreneurs make in their building and development stages is allowing their fears to be the decision maker.  In my opinion, either you face the fear or allow the fear to face you.  Somebody has to surrender and it should not be you.  Fear can only survive and exist as long as you allow. You have to be willing to reinvent yourself and shift your mindset so that your fears have no power.

I suffered for many years from fear of success.  I would constantly self sabotage myself by either procrastinating or cause an internal distraction.  Sounds crazy right? Well, I was out of my mind at the time, not any more, I now “seize the opportunity” when one arises.

Since fear is the foundation of ignorance, I encourage you to become aware and knowledgeable of what you are facing.  Make a list of the fears you have about love, money, business, marriage, and entrepreneurship.

Tackle a new fear every month on your “conquer fear” list.  Watch how taller you begin to get and how higher you will begin to reach. Remember fear stunts your growth. It’s time to become like a giant.
